It is with a heavy heart that I write with that one of the most talented, giving and well rounded no-bullshitter Carrie Fisher passed away earlier today.
It was reported on the 23rd of December 2016 that minutes from landing at LAX (on the way from London promoting her last book ‘The Princess Diarist”) that she had suffered a major heart attack and was rushed to hospital immediately after landing.
For the few people that don’t know who she was, Carrie Fisher was a actress, screenwriter, author, and producer. She had many acting credits in many films like The Blues Brothers, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, When Harry Met Sally… . She got her acting start in a 1969 Tv movie called Debbie Reynolds and the Sound of Children. Her most famous role is that of Princess Leia Organa in the Star Wars film franchise. She appeared in the original trilogy (Episode 4, 5 and 6) and 2015’s Episode 7 The Force Awakens. Episode 8, as far as I know, would most likely be in the post production phase of the film. So if her involvement was not finished yet then director Rian Johnson you have a lot of work to do.
Carrie Fisher also wrote several novels starting off a semi-autobiography called ‘Postcards from the Edge’. Which in turn was produced into a feature film directed by Mike Nichols.
